FAQ

   WELCOME and A HEARTFELT THANKYOU

I am profoundly grateful to those who entrusted me in my early days, and to my supporters—particularly those who offered their encouragement from the outset, which has been key to my mission-driven platform’s growth to 125 countries in 16 years. This growth stands as a testament to my commitment to amplifying diverse voices, raising awareness of animal cruelty, promoting veganism, advocating for the preservation of nature, and empowering individuals who deserve the tools for positive change.

   MISSION STATEMENT

As the Principal and publisher of my advocacy platform, my mission is clear: Shine to serve.

American novelist Ernest Hemingway accurately noted: “The best people possess a feeling for beauty, the courage to take risks, the discipline to tell the truth, the capacity for sacrifice. Ironically, their virtues make them vulnerable; they are often wounded, sometimes destroyed.” Nevertheless, scripts must be refined and rewritten to have the best people flourish and be valued.

As a survivor—of systemic familial and societal scapegoating, harassment, hostility and mobbing, I feel a responsibility to guide the vulnerable, instilling faith and encouraging them to find their voices. Our suffering must not burden future generations. To promote human dignity and safety—and to combat animal cruelty—we must hold ourselves accountable and demand the same from others. I advocate for transparency in combating corruption, including money laundering, smuggling and bribery, and urge for stronger, enforceable laws to hold perpetrators accountable.

   ADVOCACY

My advocacy website serves as a holistic resource that combines informative conversations alongside lighter articles. HeeraAlaya.com aims to ignite change by addressing the interconnected issues of scapegoating, gender-based violence [GBV], and corruption, which undermine the foundation of human dignity.

In my younger years, I held a naive belief that a powerful person could be destructive. However, after enduring abuse and examining perpetrators’ behaviours, I recognise that they embody powerlessness and lack the qualities that define an honourable human being. Burdened by moral bankruptcy and a host of personality disorders, they resort to destruction as an expression of their lowest selves, convinced they have a right to annihilate while cloaked in anonymity and benefiting from the silence of their victims.

Victims of violence face a complex web of discrimination. By influencing relationships with law enforcement, offering bribes to suppress criminal cases, harassing victims, and ensuring that the system favours offenders, perpetrators dismantle the foundation of humanity. The fatal consequences of corruption further intensify gender-based violence by diverting vital resources for protection.

Systemic violence and corruption create significant vulnerabilities, allowing unchecked scapegoating. Besides, this systemic abuse contributes to the rise in suicides. Virginia Giuffre tragically died by suicide on April 25, 2025, at the age of 41, burdened by the lasting effects of sexual abuse—”it became too much to carry.” Ms Giuffre’s passing reminds us to live courageously and ensure that, even in death, our light continues to shine.

   CALL TO ACTION

Convenience kills—be it through instant foods, home deliveries, digital applications, remote controls, or disposable clothing. This convenience permeates our entertainment consumption, escapism and addictions, complicity, betrayal, bribes, insincerity, lies, cowardice, and denial. Ironically, these conveniences are inconvenient. Opting for an easy path affords you short-term relief, but with guaranteed long-term degradation—you stop thinking critically, questioning deeply, feeling genuinely, and acting meaningfully, betraying the very essence of life.

BE PROACTIVE

1. Prioritise yourself and live with intentionality.

2. Establish and enforce boundaries.

3. Own your narrative and speak out.

4. Stand firm against attacks on your dignity and refuse to stay silent.

5. Reject any normalisation of dysfunction and take decisive action, including filing FIRs [First Information Report] or Police reports (depending on territorial jurisdiction) when warranted.

6. Vehemently dismiss fear-driven and hostility-laced voices of the morally bankrupt who exist as tenants in their own lives.

7. Remain steadfast to core values, such as ethics, moral courage, and honesty.

8. Step outside societal roles and expectations—refuse to accept a position of inferiority, submission, and complacency.

9. Embrace unpopularity, take risks, cultivate resilience, and foster personal growth.

10. Prioritise  altruism, ensuring your life is impactful and serves the greater good.

Self-advocacy lays the groundwork for broader advocacy by empowering individuals to understand their rights, articulate their needs, and build confidence to challenge unjust systems.

REMEMBER

1. A person who behaves one way in your presence but differently in front of others is fully aware of their actions—they are toxic individuals.

2. The most egregious perpetrators often infiltrate our lives during our most vulnerable moments.

3. Perpetrators employ a tactic known as DARVO: an acronym for Deny, Attack, and Reverse Victim and Offender.

4. Any form of abuse, violence, or warfare necessitates complicity—those who deny, enable, and protect perpetrators are themselves criminals.

   MY CORE VALUES

   AUTHENTICITY

American poet and author, E.E. Cummings: “The hardest challenge is to be yourself in a world where everyone is trying to make you be somebody else.” My identity is rooted in authenticity and boldness, qualities that are deeply intertwined. Authenticity is living in alignment with my inner authority—my thoughts, speech and actions—rather than conforming to external expectations [Carl Jung, Swiss psychiatrist]. The price of authenticity comes with discomfort, disapproval and rejection. But nothing compares to being unapologetically authentic, speaking one’s truth, wearing one’s scars, and being courageous—all of which fortify one’s character.

   INDEPENDENT THINKING

Uniformity and militarised functioning, which promote conformity and acquiescence, never held appeal for me. Critical thinking enables me to form my opinions and explore diverse perspectives.

   INTEGRITY and HONESTY

Integrity is instinctive for me; it is consistent and impartial. Honesty is a core component of integrity.

   ACCOUNTABILITY and OWNERSHIP

I take full responsibility for my life and hold myself accountable for my actions. The positive outcomes encourage me to be diligent and prudent, while my setbacks fuel my learning and growth.

   PURPOSE and JUSTICE

A profound sense of truth, dignity and fairness fuels my purpose.

   INSPIRATION

I draw inspiration from the late Sir Harold Matthew Evans, a distinguished British-American journalist and writer, who believed, “Attempting to get at truth means rejecting stereotypes and clichés.”

Like the indefatigable Sir Evans—who dedicated his life to unearthing truths, exposing injustices, and championing the overlooked—I stand firm in my moral convictions. I am a person of the arena, as echoed in Theodore Roosevelt’s 1910 speech, engaging in life’s challenges, daring greatly and pursuing a worthy life. Furthermore, I resonate with Sir Evans’ indomitable spirit, refusing to surrender my capacity for outrage in the face of injustice.

BEING A FEMINIST ANIMAL RIGHTS ACTIVIST

I strongly relate to the words of the late Egyptian feminist writer and activist, Nawal El Saadawi: “Since I was a child, I was sensitive to injustices, and I was surrounded by injustices.” I also draw inspiration from the renowned American poet and civil rights activist, Maya Angelou’s assertion to “stand up straight and realise who you are, that you tower over your circumstances.”

I am fortunate to have benefited from the guidance of remarkable women and men who have courageously spoken their truth.  The adage “You can’t be what you don’t see” underscores the importance of passing on the torch of wellness.

As an individual who has devoted a significant part of my life to survival, I have emerged with a profound understanding of my core values and my capacity for life. Acknowledging my intrinsic worth empowers me to express myself unapologetically with strong standards, a clear and confident voice, and steadfast consistency. Anchored in my purpose and non-negotiables—dignity, safety, honesty, integrity and accountability—I am committed to rising above the consequences imposed by those who betray themselves. This belief in my worth makes certain that I perform at my highest level.

My niche audience consists of emotionally mature, morally conscious, and intellectually engaging individuals who connect with my overriding principles of integrity and courage and are eager to be informed by and involved in the broader landscape of humanity.
